Tech Mahindra said on October 26 that it will embed Mastercard virtual cards and payment tools in companies’ ERP and procurement platforms, three days after it bought Finastra’s cash management product suite. The Pune-based IT group acquired the intellectual property for Fusion Cash Management, Fusion Virtual Accounts and Fusion Liquidity Management on October 23 and did not disclose the price.
Why it matters: The Finastra deal gives Tech Mahindra its own software for virtual accounts, liquidity and cash reporting at corporate and institutional banks, and the Mastercard agreement adds corporate payables, with virtual card payments run from inside buyers’ existing ERP and procure-to-pay systems. For Mastercard, it brings an integrator with more than 150,000 staff in 90 countries to sell embedded B2B payments into large companies.
