Mastercard reported third-quarter 2026 net revenue of $9.8 billion on October 29, up 14% on a year earlier, with net income up 18% to $4.6 billion. Gross dollar volume rose 7% in local currency to $3.0 trillion, cross-border volume grew 11% and switched transactions grew 9%.
Why it matters: Cross-border assessments rose 16%, five points faster than cross-border volume, a gap Mastercard put down mainly to pricing in international markets and mix on its earnings call. Intra-Europe cross-border volume fell from the second quarter, which Mastercard linked to a new EU customs fee, the timing of large retail promotions and lower crypto purchases, while value-added services and solutions revenue grew 19%.
